FAQ
What is The Village?

A small village by the sea where you feel better and get stronger together. A place to slow down, move, sweat, eat well and simply be with other people, right in the middle of the city.

Where does the name come from?

We live in a stressful society, so we wanted to create a place close to nature where we get tools to handle it. And we wanted it to feel like a village, because it takes one.

Where are you?

On the grass by Scaniabadet in Västra Hamnen, between Vaganza Beach Garden and the Titanic jetty. Right by the sea, in the middle of Malmö.

When can I come?

We are working on it, and we will share the date as soon as we have one. Leave your email on the waiting list and you will be the first to know.

What will there be?

Two saunas: a big one for 40 people where we run aufguss sessions you can book, and a smaller one for 25 that is always open for anyone to step into. Two cold plunges and a deck with a fire bowl in the middle. A house with a café and a yoga studio, and a house for changing.

Is it a gym?

No, and we say that loudly. It is holistic training with the sauna at the heart of it: classes for a stronger body, a calmer nervous system and a closer community.

Can anyone come?

Yes. The Village is a place for everyone, with no expectations. Come as you are.

What is aufguss?

A German sauna ritual. A sauna guide mixes water with essential oils, pours it over the hot stones and fans the warm air around the room.

When are you open?

The idea is every day of the week, from morning until evening. Start your day here with yoga, sauna or meditation, come at lunch for a session, or drop by later in the evening.

Who is behind it?

Bahir Mohammad Hussein, a sauna guide who had dreamed of a place of his own, and David Egonson, who started the salad chain Holy Greens. We both want to give more back to the community.

Is it climate-positive?

That is our ambition. We are building with Skåne hemp and natural materials, and we want The Village to be good for people and for the planet.
